CENTRE FOR HMIS AND MCTS


Background

In the 7 Joint Review Mission during July 12-August 13, 2010, the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) was identified to take a lead to collaborate with SIHFW's and RHFWTC to mentor M&E process in States, linking with PRC's spread across 18 States. It was also recommended that M&E Division and NIHFW tp prepare a standard M&E Trg. The same was also retiterated by the then Mission Director Sh. P.K. Pradhan, IAS and now Secretary, H&FW in his letter to all Mission Directors of States; Director NIHFW, Director SIHFWs, Director PRCs and all Regional Directors in April 2010.

           

Objectives

* To Organise, coordinate and monitor training in the country directly and through collaborating Training Institutes and other organisations working in the field of HMIS data Management.
* To Upgrade the competence of health personnel and programme managers related to HMIS under NRHM.
* To identify Collaborating Training Institutes and other Organisations on regional basis for providing the support services and supervision required to the peripheral institutions in conducting training courses and their monitoring.
* To assist the States and Districts through CTIs and other institutes for training of Master Trainers for futher training and strenghening HMIS at State, District and Sub-District levels.
* To asses the training need of the functionaries at different levels and customize suitable training package and modules for ensuring proper implementation oh HMIS in all the states and districts and sub-District health facilities.
* To train health personnel at state level and below for using IT tools for strengthing HMIS under NRHM.
* To train the concerned staff on HMIS portal and impart therotical training about the formats being use in this system.
