The National Institute of Health & Family Welfare has always been at the forefront whenever knowledge and information is disseminated for larger public welfare through  education, training, research, evaluation, specialized services, consultancy and advisory services. The institute organizes benchmark capacity building training courses to meet the  ongoing needs of the health workforce and staying relevant within the dynamic health infrastructure. In the past years, NIHFW has imparted various training programs to build and  harness the capacity of the health professionals to create a workforce of knowledgeable skilled human resources for effective health care delivery. Some of the significant capacity  building programs conducted by NIHFW include Capacity Building in Public Health Emergency Management, Capacity Building of District Level Officers/ Staff under National  Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), Building Administrative and Financial Skills for AYUSH Officials, Building Leadership and Management skills of Nursing and Midwifery  professionals and the In- Charges of Autonomous Bodies / Subordinate Offices of AYUSH Ministry.

 The NIHFW in coordination with the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) organized two online training programs under the flagship programme of Government of  India's Development Partnerships for extending capacity building and sharing knowledge and experience. Under ITEC, these were eITEC programs in the category of nursing,  paramedics and geriatric care management for regulatory / training authorities of ITEC partner countries.
